Roots of Yoga Membership

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to your purchase and use of the Roots of Yoga membership, including the Roots of Yoga app, website, recorded content, live classes, community spaces and any other content or services made available as part of your membership.

By purchasing a membership, creating an account or accessing Roots of Yoga membership content, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Membership

Roots of Yoga is an online yoga and educational membership created by Nikita Desai.

Membership may include access to recorded yoga classes, āsana, prāṇāyāma, meditation, yoga nidrā, philosophy and educational talks, live classes, challenges, courses, community spaces, downloadable resources and other content.

The content available as part of the membership may change over time. Membership does not guarantee that a particular class, teacher, feature, live session or piece of content will remain available indefinitely.

2. Subscription and Payment

Membership is offered on a recurring subscription basis at the price displayed at the time of purchase.

By subscribing, you authorise the applicable payment provider to charge the membership fee automatically at the beginning of each billing period until you cancel your subscription.

Prices, billing frequency and any applicable taxes will be displayed before purchase.

Roots of Yoga may change the price of the membership in the future. Where a price change applies to an existing subscription, reasonable notice will be provided before the new price takes effect.

3. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the cancellation method provided within the app or your account.

Unless otherwise stated at the time of cancellation, cancellation prevents future renewals and you will retain access until the end of your current paid billing period.

Deleting the app does not, by itself, cancel a paid subscription.

Where subscriptions are purchased through a third-party platform or app store, cancellation may need to be completed through that provider.

4. Refunds

Except where required by applicable consumer law, membership payments are non-refundable once the relevant subscription period has begun.

If you believe you have been charged incorrectly or more than once, please contact Roots of Yoga so the payment can be investigated.

Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

5. Health and Participation

Roots of Yoga content is provided for general educational and wellbeing purposes and is not a substitute for medical, psychological, physiotherapy or other professional healthcare advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Yoga and physical movement involve inherent risks. You are responsible for practising within your own abilities and limitations.

If you have an injury or medical condition, are pregnant or postpartum, have recently undergone surgery, or have concerns about whether a particular practice is suitable for you, you should seek appropriate professional advice before participating.

Stop a practice if you experience pain, dizziness, significant discomfort, unusual shortness of breath or other concerning symptoms.

6. Online Classes and Individual Responsibility

Roots of Yoga classes are delivered remotely. This means Nikita Desai cannot always see you, assess your individual circumstances or provide personalised physical adjustments or modifications.

Any modifications, alternatives or contraindications mentioned during a class are general guidance and may not be suitable for every individual.

You remain responsible for choosing an appropriate practice, ensuring you have sufficient space to participate safely and deciding when to modify, rest or stop.

7. Prāṇāyāma, Meditation and Other Practices

Breathwork and prāṇāyāma should be practised without unnecessary strain or force. More advanced practices, including breath retention, may not be suitable for everyone.

Meditation, yoga nidrā and other contemplative practices may affect individuals differently. You may stop or pause a practice at any time.

Where a class includes specific contraindications or safety guidance, you are responsible for considering and following that guidance.

8. Live Classes

Live classes may be offered as part of the membership from time to time but are not guaranteed unless expressly stated otherwise.

Dates, times and availability may change. Where reasonably possible, members will be informed of changes or cancellations.

Some live sessions may be recorded and subsequently made available within the membership. Members will be informed where a session is being recorded.

9. Community Spaces

Membership may include access to community feeds, group chats or other interactive spaces.

Members are expected to communicate respectfully and comply with the Roots of Yoga Community Guidelines.

Harassment, discrimination, abusive behaviour, spam, unauthorised advertising, inappropriate content or behaviour that compromises the safety or experience of other members will not be tolerated.

Roots of Yoga reserves the right to moderate or remove content and, where reasonably necessary, restrict or terminate access to community spaces for breaches of these Terms or the Community Guidelines.

10. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all classes, videos, audio recordings, written materials, downloadable resources, course materials, graphics and other original Roots of Yoga content are owned by or licensed to Nikita Desai/Roots of Yoga and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Your membership provides you with a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access the content for your own personal use.

Content must not be copied, reproduced, recorded, downloaded where downloading has not been expressly enabled, distributed, sold, republished, uploaded elsewhere, used to train or teach others, or otherwise commercially exploited without prior written permission.

Your login and membership access must not be shared with another person.

11. Availability of the Service

While reasonable efforts will be made to maintain access to Roots of Yoga, uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed.

Access may occasionally be interrupted due to maintenance, technical problems, updates or circumstances outside the reasonable control of Roots of Yoga.

Features, content and the structure of the membership may be updated or changed as the service develops.

12. Third-Party Platforms

Parts of the Roots of Yoga service may be provided using third-party technology, payment processors, app stores or hosting services.

Your use of those services may also be subject to the relevant provider's terms and privacy practices.

Roots of Yoga is not responsible for outages or technical failures of third-party services outside its reasonable control.

13. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.

To the extent permitted by law, Roots of Yoga is not responsible for losses arising from a member's failure to follow reasonable instructions, safety guidance or stated contraindications, or from use of the service in a manner for which it was not intended.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

14. Suspension or Termination of Membership

Roots of Yoga may suspend or terminate access where a member seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms or the Community Guidelines, shares membership access or copyrighted material without permission, engages in abusive or unlawful behaviour, or misuses the service.

Where appropriate, reasonable notice or an opportunity to address the issue will be provided before access is terminated.

15. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the membership, applicable law or the way Roots of Yoga operates.

Where a change materially affects an existing member's rights or subscription, reasonable notice will be provided.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction, you may also have mandatory consumer rights under the laws applicable to you that these Terms do not override.
